The brave nurse who challenged her attacker Karen Wright, 36, was walking to church when she was attacked by a stranger in a Manchester alleyway last November. Her attacker, about 20-years-old and dressed in black, stabbed her three times in the back and leg and threw her to the ground. |
It was 7pm and Karen who is a nurse at Hope Hospital said she prayed as the man slashed her with two knives.
She said the man screamed "I'm going to kill you" and she decided to take over and start fighting back.
She managed to get up off the ground and push him off and the attacker fled from the poorly lit alleyway, leaving Karen with her wounds.
The police believe it was a random attack.
A woman passer-by and her son found Karen and took her to Hope Hospital where Karen works.
"I feel I am lucky to be alive and I don’t want this to happen to anyone else."
