More than 7000 athletes from 71 nations are due to compete in India, this October.

Security for sportspersons, officials and spectators has been a common concern following terrorist attacks in the country in the past few years, which also led to several sporting extravaganzas being moved.

Despite reassurances given by the CWG officials, teams doubt participation. This is also due to the renewed threats by terrorist groups like LeT.
