A TASK AT HAND

However, without the indispensable kits, tackling the security challenges during the multi-sport event in October will be a hard task.

A police officer involved with the purchasing committee, on account of anonymity, said:

“There are still some armoured cars to be bought and the delay is very disturbing because these vehicles are expected to play a major role during the Games.

“Bullet-proof jackets and the latest ammo are also a big concern. Sahibs must have told you that around 3000 commandos are to be stationed but as of now only one batch of commandos out of three are ready for the event.”

“Sab hawa main baat karte hai. Abhi bohot kaam bacha hai (All are high claims. There’s a lot to be done.)”, the officer added.
