What is Fairtrade cotton?
Cotton that is certified by the Fairtrade foundation and guarantees:
The farmers receive a fair and stable price for their cotton
Farmers and plantation workers receive a premium that is set aside to invest in social and environmental projects.
The cotton is non GM
Encourages farmers to convert to organic agriculture. However Fairtrade does not guarantee their cotton is organic.
