Lynda Waltho, Labour MP for Stourbridge, West Midlands, was present at the protest, supports the call to change the law. "In my constituency, a club was set up near a six-form college. It's important to hand back the democratic right of my constituents to have a say on what sort of clubs can set up in their town," she said. "It's nonsense that you can object to your neighbour building a porch but you can't object to a lap-dancing club. The law needs to change. These clubs are not classified correctly."
