Marriage For the Church is 'One of The

Best Proofs of Love'

Despite the ‘so-called crisis’ that marriage is facing and the rising confusion around its initial meaning(co-habitation, free union, divorce, civil partnership...), the Church affirms that marriage is one of the strongest pillars of “love civilisation”.

Bigger and deeper than a license to love or a license to have sex; marriage at church is a genuine covenant with God.

The Bible says in the book of Ecclesiastes 4.12: “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.  A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

The Christians think that with his constant presence, God stands for the third strand of the cord within the couple. Thanks to this third strand, the cord is solid, unfailing and unalterable.

Being asked if the decline of marriage was also happening in the church, Pastor Ewan Cameron from Hillsong Church in London says:

Marriage vs Cohabitation

Marriage: All about Religious Convictions?

People with no religion are more likely to be cohabiting the Office for National Statistics reported. On the contrary, people who are following a religion value marriage and are more likely to make the big leap.
