Background and purpose:

This website intends to draw attention to the racial inequality and cultural identity issues that challenge the British Indian community in the UK.

The word ‘British Indian’ is used to denote a person of Indian ancestry or origin, who was born in or was an immigrant to the UK. According to the 2001 UK census, there are 1.05 million people of Indian origin here in the UK making up for 1.8% of the entire population.

This site is trying to look at issues like the law and how it treats race complaints, cultural balance between the Indian and English way of life and the nature of racism that this community faces as well.

The site is also an attempt to give this particular cross section of society, which is the biggest ethnic minority group in the UK, an opportunity to voice their concerns and articulate their fears.
