Could there be any crueller crime than a father or brother killing his daughter, sister or wife?

How can liberal societies be able to understand a man who considers his "honour" as more precious than a beloved relative?

Maybe we can, thinking of all the crimes in our society that are committed in the name of love: jealousy, pain and dented pride can be a drive to hurt as much as honour obviously is in other cultures.

Apart from spending their lives in prison, the perpetrators are punishing themselves by killing a loved one for a twisted idea - which only brings shame to the whole family.

However there is nothing to defend them or understand their point of view, but many reasons to fight a barbaric tradition!
