Dr Wise thinks that Super Casinos in the UK will create more addicts with Australia being an example.

Dr Wise also thinks the National Lottery has made gambling socially more acceptable.

In figures quoted to the British Medical Association Dr Wise thinks that up to 350,000 UK adults could be defined as addicts.

He thinks this number could well rise, especially with an increase in online gambling.

Dr Wise is a consultant psychiatrist from London. He has proposed to the British Medical Association that more research needs to be done to assess the impact of "super Casinos" and online gaming in Britain. He beleives young people will be the most affected group and his research has shown that 5% of 12-15 year olds show signs of gambling addiction and 75% of this age group have played on slot machines.
