The deal with Spurs which lasts for four years is expected to see further links forged between the two companies with both on and off the field. Gambling expert Professor Mark Griffiths from Nottingham Trent University has identified adolescents as a “vulnerable group” who potentially could fall victim to “24 hour convenience gaming”. The age group which the professor refers to clearly represents a large proportion of both Spurs supporters and football fans in general.
The money from the deal will not only help Spurs in the marketing world but will also aid them in their work with the local area such as the Tottenham Hotspur Community Scheme. The scheme provides free football training camps for under privileged youngsters in the London area.
