Stop wasting money

NO2ID have lashed out at the government over their indecision regarding ID cards.

National co-ordinator for the anti-ID pressure group Phil Booth said: "

The government's Identity Cards Bill was orginally passed two years ago. NO2ID claim that since then costs have multiplied and funds have been redistributed.

Mr Booth spoke on behalf of NO2ID when he said the money being "wasted" on ID Cards should be redistributed among police intelligence agencies.

The Identity Cards Bill will introduce a new system where eventually all official UK citizens will carry a card containing their biometric information.

This card will be acknowledged as an official means for identifying its owner.

The information in the ID card will be stored on a National Identity Register. A super-database that the government hopes will eventually link to credit information, DVLA, medical and bank database.
