Sports Funding - is it a Lottery?

With six short years to go before London hosts the 2012 Olympics, funding for sport has hit the headlines as the next generation of young athletes strive for gold and glory. The government is investing over £5bn in the lead up to the games in an attempt to reach the lofty heights of fourth in the medals table, but is this money reaching those who need it most? Are youngsters getting the support they need, will the new facilities be ready in time, and can Britain realistically compete with the world's top sporting nations? An investigation by Samantha Dalton.
