“We will keep fighting till the very end” said Dr Arun George optimistically. Unfortunately for him his fellow companions don’t have his confidence.
Thousands of doctors have already taken the flight back without hope or expectations. The implications for them have been devastating. Their shattered dreams have not given them any reason to stay.
Dr Rehman Khan who is not directly affected by the regulation says that although he is comfortably settled he feels it is an unjust step by the government and therefore there is a moral obligation for every fellow comrade fight against this injustice.
Dr Umesh Prabhu who is an executive committee member of the BIDA said that they have plenty of support to fight for this cause. He said that all they expect from the UK is to be fair to the trainee doctors who are already living in the UK. He added that immigrant doctors in the future should compete with European doctors according to their merit.

Dr Arun who is a junior doctor and also an active member of the BAPIO said that some of the trainee doctors haven’t taken the situation seriously and have not co-operated to the fullest. “This has hindered all our efforts to put maximum pressure on the government. Our fight for justice will be in vain if we don’t have every doctor getting involved. Even for collecting funds for the legal actions I have found that some doctors have not volunteered to pool in which is eventually for their benefit as well.” He said.
Dr Peeyush who was directly affected by the regulations is not willing to stay in the UK at any cost. He said that he had a choice and even if it was the wrong one he would not like to stay here anymore. He also said that his time here was a complete waste and he would rather move to another country like the US than stick on to the UK.
