A story about giving
Christine Brown, 58, from Essex, joined The Anthony Nolan Trust's register in the very early days.

“I joined in the charity when Shirley Nolan was still campaigning for her son, but sadly just a week after Anthony died.” Almost 14 years later, Christine got a call from the charity that her bone marrow was matched to a patient.
Christine saved a little Hungarian girl’s life in 1993. “It wasn’t nearly bad as I thought before. Personally, I didn’t experience much pain afterwards apart from some tiredness for about ten days.”
“In 2005, my husband and I went to her wedding in Budapest, which was an absolutely fantastic time.”
Christine was frightened, but also extraordinarily brave and proud for what she’d done.
“When I gave birth to a baby boy, for the first time in my life I really understood why Shirley Nolan had tried to move heaven and earth to save her son. I’m really happy that I saved another mother’s child.”
