Moved to tears
Adult learners and teachers published a periodical paper for ten years which was called 'Write first time'. Ann wrote in the first number:
"I would like to say about when I first started going to find out about reading. No one could have been more nervous than I.
I hid it up for so many years that I don't think many people did know, only family. I felt ashamed for what I couldn't do,
but I was never taught."
